Gush Shalom calls on all who can to take part on Saturday in this big
mobilization for the olive harvest joined by several groups.

Join the Olive Harvest In the Shadow of the Wall, Saturday, Oct. 25

The olive harvest is underway in the occupied territories.

In addition to the ongoing problems of closure, curfews, settler attacks
and olive theft, the difficulties are compounded this year by the
Separation Wall.

The wall now in construction separates villagers from their land, the ill
from medical care, and families from each other. Tens of thousands of
Palestinians have already lost their livelihoods with the appropriation of
80,000 dunam of land.

Over 12,000 Palestinians are caught between the wall and the Green
Line,
cut off from the rest of Palestine and prohibited from entering Israel. They
are living in a “closed military zone”, meaning that they must ask
permission from the army to continue to live in their homes, and they risk
losing that right. Under cover of the wall, trees are cut down, people are
uprooted, and hate is sown. The next stage is quiet transfer, forcing the
Palestinians to leave their homes.

Help us break down the walls of hatred and fear.

Join us this Saturday, 25 October in the Olive Harvest, Israelis and
Palestinians together, in villages directly harmed by the wall.
