BIG MOUTH - EMPTY HANDS

Ariel Sharon is categorically opposed to meeting with Yaser Arafat.
During years he is conducting a hate campaign against the leader of 
the Palestinian people, accusing him of all the crimes in the world and 
boycotting everybody who does meet with him.

But, soon Sharon is going to meet with..., no, not with Arafat (G'd 
forbid!). The Israeli prime minister is going to hold in a glare of  publicity 
a  meeting with a person coming from Arafat and acting on his behalf, 
a person who got Arafat's blessing and isn't hiding it in any way.

Less important with whom Sharon is going to meet. 
More important: what does he have to offer.
The answer is clear: Sharon has to offer nothing whatsoever - not to 
Arafat, not to Abu-Ala, nor to the Israeli public.

Sharon has no plans whatsoever to reveal which are his famous 
"painful concessions" and even less to implement them.
He has no plans whatsoever to dismantle the settlements nor to end 
the occupation. The only thing on his mind is how to look moderate 
and how to seem engaged in negotiations  for an Israeli public that 
yearns for a peaceful solution, for an end to the hell of the last three 
years.

One more deception in a long row of deceptions; one more sign of 
bancruptcy of a failing government - failing at all fronts.
