Dear Sir: A government that starts legal procedures against a peace group for alerting them of potentially indictable offenses by its armed forces creates the suspicion that it has something to hide. Does the Israeli government have something to hide? Almost assuredly, for otherwise why would it have completely blacked out independent news coverage, international observers and humanitarian workers? Gush Shalom, by sending warning letters to officers who actually have been boasting about acts which are violating the Geneva Conventions, is not only within its democratic rights but it has performed its patriotic duty admirably.
