It is impossible to save the lives of Gil'ad, Eldad and Ehud except by an exchange of prisoners. The exchange of prisoners can be carried out within 48 hours - if we are ready to pay the price. The public is prepared to pay the price and to release Palestinian and Lebanese prisoners. There is no time for extensive haggling. When human lives are at stake, there is no place for slogans like "We shall not talk with terrorists", "We shall not surrender to terror" or "We demand the unconditional release of our soldiers." Cynical politicians are playing with the fate of the prisoners, trying to assure their own survival and prestige. That is how we lost the captured navigator Ron Arad.
